Terms of Use
Effective 2 May 2026 · Ontario law · Courts of OttawaThe terms that govern your use of 4uit.ca and any services provided by 4UIT Inc. By using the site or our services you agree to them. Service engagements are additionally governed by a signed engagement letter or master services agreement, which takes precedence.
01. Acceptance
These Terms form a binding agreement between you and 4UIT Inc., a federal corporation registered at 5-2000 Thurston Drive, Ottawa, ON K1G 4K7. Accessing 4uit.ca, contacting us or using any service constitutes acceptance. If you are acting for a business, you represent that you have authority to bind it. If you do not agree, do not use the site or the services.
02. What we do
4UIT provides managed IT, cybersecurity (EDR/XDR, MDR, email gateway, firewall, backup, DNS filtering), cloud and Microsoft 365 administration, web and software work, and computer repair — primarily to businesses in Ottawa–Gatineau and Eastern Ontario. This website describes those services in general terms; the specific terms of any engagement are set by its signed agreement.
03. Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate information in forms, quotes and documents.
- Do not use the site to infringe rights, distribute malicious code, attempt unauthorised access, scrape at volume, or interfere with its operation.
- Comply with applicable Canadian, provincial and local law.
- Keep any credentials we issue — including the support portal at support.4uit.ca — confidential, and tell us immediately at hello@4uit.ca if you suspect unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Do not misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
04. Payment
Payment terms are specified in your engagement letter or master services agreement. We do not post a public rate card; pricing is quoted per engagement against your environment. Late payments may incur interest at the lesser of 1.5% per month or the maximum rate Ontario law permits.
05. Intellectual property
All content on 4uit.ca — text, design, graphics, code, the 4UIT wordmark and symbol, and the social-kit assets — is owned by or licensed to 4UIT Inc. You may quote our published articles with attribution and a link back. You may not redistribute full articles, reproduce the design system, or use the marks without written permission.
Content you submit — through forms, the portal, or an engagement — remains yours. You grant us a limited licence to use it solely to provide the service you engaged us for.
06. Availability and limitations
We make best efforts to keep the site available and accurate but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access; it may be down for maintenance or causes beyond our control. Site content — including articles, solution pages and FAQ answers — is general information, not legal, financial or professional advice. Service commitments are contractual only in a signed agreement.
Performance figures quoted on the site — such as Sophos MDR’s published 89-second alert-to-automated-response figure — are third-party vendors’ published claims, not contractual commitments by 4UIT.
07. Liability and indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by law: the website and its content are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind; 4UIT Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages arising from use of the website or services, including lost profits, data, goodwill or business interruption; and our aggregate liability arising from the website does not exceed CAD $100, except as a signed engagement letter specifies otherwise.
Some jurisdictions, including Ontario in certain consumer-protection contexts, do not allow these exclusions — there, liability is limited to the maximum extent the law permits.
You agree to indemnify 4UIT Inc., its directors, officers and employees against claims arising from your breach of these Terms, your violation of law or third-party rights, or your misuse of the website or services.
08. Termination
We may suspend or terminate website access at any time, with or without cause or notice, including for violation of these Terms. Provisions that should survive — intellectual property, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law — survive.
09. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The parties consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Ottawa, Ontario. The UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
10. Changes and miscellany
We update these Terms when practices, services or the law change; the effective date above moves with the text, and material changes are flagged on the homepage for at least 30 days. Continued use after a change is acceptance.
- Entire agreement — these Terms plus any signed engagement letter or MSA.
- Severability — an invalid provision leaves the rest in force. No waiver — not enforcing a provision does not waive it.
- Assignment — you may not assign without written consent; we may assign in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
- Force majeure — neither party is liable for failures caused by events beyond reasonable control.
- No third-party beneficiaries.
- Language — drafted in English; we serve clients in English, Punjabi and Hindi. Where Quebec consumer law requires French-language notices, email hello@4uit.ca with subject “French translation request.”
