Terms of use.
The terms that govern your use of 4uit.ca and any services provided by 4UIT Inc. Read them. By using the site or our services, you agree to them.
1 · Acceptance of terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and 4UIT Inc., a federal corporation registered in Canada with its registered address at 5 - 2000 Thurston Drive, Ottawa, ON K1G 4K7. By accessing 4uit.ca, contacting us, or using any service we provide, you accept these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the site or our services.
If you're entering into these Terms on behalf of a business, you represent that you have authority to bind that business.
2 · What we do
4UIT provides managed IT, cybersecurity (EDR/XDR, MDR, firewall, email gateway, backup, DNS filtering), cloud and Microsoft 365 administration, web design, and computer repair, primarily to businesses in Ottawa-Gatineau and Eastern Ontario. The website at 4uit.ca describes those services in general terms; the specific terms of any service we provide to you are governed by a separate written engagement letter or master services agreement.
3 · User responsibilities
When you use 4uit.ca or our services, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information when you fill in a form, request a quote, or sign a document
- Not use the site to infringe anyone's rights, distribute malicious code, attempt unauthorised access, scrape at high volume, or otherwise interfere with the site's operation
- Comply with all applicable Canadian, provincial, and local laws
- Maintain the confidentiality of any account credentials we issue you (e.g., the support portal at support.4uit.ca)
- Not misrepresent your identity or affiliation
4 · Account and access
For managed-IT and managed-cybersecurity customers, we may issue you access to a support portal, ticketing system, or the customer-facing components of our remote-monitoring stack. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@4uit.ca if you suspect unauthorised access.
5 · Payment terms
Payment terms for any service are specified in your engagement letter or master services agreement. We don't post a public rate card; pricing is quoted per engagement against your specific environment. Late payments may incur interest at the lesser of 1.5% per month or the maximum rate permitted by Ontario law.
6 · Intellectual property
All content on 4uit.ca — text, design, graphics, code, logos, the "4UIT" wordmark, the orange "4" mark, and the social-kit assets — is owned by 4UIT Inc. or licensed to us. You may quote our blog content with attribution and a link back to the source page. You may not redistribute full articles, reproduce the design system, or use the brand marks without written permission.
Content you submit to us through the contact form, support portal, or as part of a paid engagement remains yours. You grant us a limited licence to use it solely for the purpose of providing the service you've engaged us for.
7 · Service availability and limitations
We make best efforts to keep 4uit.ca available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. The site may be unavailable for maintenance, updates, or due to causes beyond our reasonable control (DNS, hosting provider outages, ISP issues).
Information on the website — including blog posts, solution pages, and FAQ entries — is for general informational purposes. It is not legal, financial, or professional advice. Service-specific commitments are governed by your engagement letter, not by the website.
Performance metrics referenced on the site (e.g., Sophos MDR's published 38-minute average response time and 60-minute SLA on 90% of high-severity cases) are the published claims of third-party vendors and are not contractual commitments by 4UIT.
8 · Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- The website and its content are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
- 4UIT Inc. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from your use of the website or services, including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business interruption
- Our aggregate liability arising from or related to the website does not exceed CAD $100, except as may be otherwise specified in a signed engagement letter
Important: Some jurisdictions, including Ontario in certain consumer-protection contexts, do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
9 · Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless 4UIT Inc., its directors, officers, and employees from claims arising out of (a) your breach of these Terms, (b) your violation of any law or third-party right, or (c) your misuse of the website or services.
10 · Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the website at any time, with or without cause or notice, for any reason — including violation of these Terms. The provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law) shall survive.
11 · Governing law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The parties consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Ottawa, Ontario for any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the website. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
12 · Modifications
We may update these Terms when our practices change, when service offerings change, or when the law changes. The effective date of the current version is at the top of this page. Material changes will be flagged with a notice on the homepage for at least 30 days. Continued use of the site after a change indicates your acceptance of the updated Terms.
13 · Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement — these Terms (plus any engagement letter or master services agreement we sign with you) constitute the entire agreement between you and 4UIT Inc. with respect to your use of the website and services
- Severability — if any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force
- No waiver — our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of that provision
- Assignment — you may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
- Force majeure — neither party is liable for failure to perform due to causes beyond reasonable control (natural disasters, war, civil unrest, internet or hosting-provider outages, government action)
- No third-party beneficiaries — these Terms create no rights for any third party
- Language — these Terms are drafted in English. We currently serve clients in English, Punjabi, and Hindi. Where Quebec consumer-protection law requires a French-language version of consumer notices, contact hello@4uit.ca with the subject line "French translation request" and we will provide one
